We have visited here on numerous occasions and have always found the food to be good ... especially the steak. On a Thursday evening they do two steaks and a bottle wine for £25. If you register online or when you are in the pub you will get offers emailed to you. The homemade crumble is always very nice.

We were en route and decided to try this restaurant. The good points: Clean Friendly staff Great menu with three alternative portion sizes Free sweets for over 55's (we qualified!) Very nicely prepared and presented fresh food. Reasonable price Bad points - NONE

“Excellent meal - I am most impressed with this restaurant”

This venue punches well above its weight - it masquerades as a country pub but served up food up to and perhaps even above the standard of many 5 star hotels I've visited. Myself and my husband visited as a result of a promotion on Groupon which can at times lead to disappointment but in the case of The Bull there was no disappointment whatever.

From the exceptional Caesar salad starter (which included anchovies) through the beef blade bourguignon I enjoyed as well as the soup and Thai curry which were my husband's choices the food was tasty, the portions ample and the standard of cuisine really exceptional for a pub venue. The service too was exemplary, I tentatively asked to a slight change from the set menu as there was an ingredient (horseradish in the mash) that I really dislike and the reaction could not have been more helpful.

My only problem .... I don't live close enough to get here very often! But I'll certainly make the effort to come back again, I know it will definitely be worth it
